Thunes has adopted up to 15 global e-wallets and mobile partners from Alipay+ to help a myriad of its Paris merchants make cross-border payment acceptance more seamless.
The collaboration between the two payment providers see’s it leverage the Thunes Global Network to enhance the convenience for Asian tourists in the French capital, a pertinent time due to the ongoing Paris Olympic Games.
Alipay+, a suite of cross-border mobile payments and digitalisation technology solutions, and Thunes have enabled an influx of Asian visitors to make seamless payments at electronics, luxury retail and duty-free stores in Paris this summer.

Alipay+’s user base spans across 1.5 billion global users to make payments via 15 different Asian and European e-wallets at retail stores. Some of the supported wallets include Alipay, AlipayHK, Touch ‘n Go eWallet, Hipay and Bluecode, to name a few.
The collaboration between Thunes and Alipay+ first began in 2022, when the former enabled Alipay+ for merchants in Europe, allowing them to accept cross-border payments from seven Asian e-wallets at checkout.
Over the past two years, Thunes has rolled out Alipay+ acceptance to more European merchants as the number of Alipay+ supported e-wallets in Europe has increased, in a bid to enhance the tourism experience for international visitors.
